HOW DID YOU GET OUT OF BED?
Lets pretend that all of the saboteurs are not a part of your life ie:
- Binge Drinking - Binge Drugging - Binge Sexing - Binge Partying - Binge Stressing
Humans are gifted with the most incredible ability to direct their reality, yet fail to execute this ability for many reasons. Beliefs, ignorance, apathy, lack of knowledge, tiredness, coping mechanisms, emotional shame are only a handful of some of the reasons, but they all come down to understanding.
The worst 'so-called' sin or indiscretion, can be seen through a different lens . . .
. . . a more compassionate one!
How do you get out of bed?
The first thing that I would do, is to go to bed with the right attitude -
Why?
Your intention to have a great night's sleep and awaken fresh and vibrant in the morning has an accumulative effect and done over time, balances the body system in ways that you cannot imagine. But with the saboteurs, this is rarely the case.
The second thing that I would do, is to read something uplifting before I go to sleep -
Why?
It is a researched fact that you take the imagery that is on your mind with you when you go to sleep. We call this a television dream. The images that you take into your subconscious reality, are the ones that affect your body and after a horror movie, a fight with a person or abusing behaviour, this can only have a detrimental effect!
The third thing that I would do, is to set an alarm (in the beginning) for an hour before I am due to wake up and enter the physical world -
Why?
The intention is not to leave the bed, but to bring you out of a deep sleep and allow you to enter a lighter state of being, where you can consciously direct the imagery which you are seeing and experiencing - the light dreaming state. Everybody knows this state and it feels like you are drifting in a fantasy world - twilight.
The fourth thing that I would do, is to imagine the events of my day ahead in this light dream state -
Why?
It is important that you acknowledge the upcoming events and experiences and this is a crucial step in awakening your ability to create the life you really desire. Step into your personal day and visit the events . . .
- the job interview
- the parental meeting with an ex-spouse
- the dinner with a new love
- the child-minding day
- the traffic and journey
- and the list has no end and has no judgement, so it matters not what matters to you!
The fifth thing that I would do, is to gently take hold of the events, one at a time, and begin to direct them the way that I would best see them unfold.
Why?
This is not the time to allow a negative fantasy of mayhem, carnage, drama or fate to creep into any part of your future, even if it is only your day ahead. So, imagine the best outcome that you can possibly allow in your life. Imagine:
- the traffic being calm and uneventful, easy and quick
- the job interview being a success (whatever that means to you)
- the meeting of a potential love having the best outcome (accept that they may not be the right one for you but be happy that you are in a good space)
- your first day at your new job being positive
- your nerves being calm and your speech being a success
- your children having a calm and relaxed day, just as you are feeling
- your pregnancy being normal and your baby being healthy
- the bills being paid on time
-etc etc etc
The sixth thing that I would do, is to become aware of the way that you are feeling while you are seeing these positive directions to your day -
Why?
Your feelings are paramount to your body receiving the intended experiences, and the chemicals in your body will change form and begin to send a different set of messages to each cell. Synapses will fire differently and receptor sites will receive different messages and an entire shift will occur in your very cells! YOU will feel different . . . changed.
The last thing that I would do, is to have an attitude of thanksgiving or gratitude as I wake up fully and consciously -
Why?
As you greet your day . . . so does your day greet you and remember the space between two is the place where dreams come true. If you and your day are both positive and in agreement, then that is what you will create. Also know that your day will always greet you with your own attitude - as YOU ARE, so IT WILL be!

These practices are life changing absolutely. Over these Christmas holidays I have given myself 2 weeks off to recharge. My favourite part of the day is that hour in the morning. I put my eye mask on and settle in for some visualizing, eventually drifting into an amazing state of light sleep. My nervous system feels so peaceful and I feel incredibly contented.
