The Chains that Bind

THE CHAINS THAT BIND

As we struggle against the alarming and often overwhelming constrictions placed upon us, freedom calls from a far distant place. So many times we are taught that the things that bind us can only be of this world. They lay claim to who we have been, who we are and what we will become - in essence - our past, present and future.
Caught in a loop that lasts a lifetime and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel but never reaching it, death sometimes becomes the only way of reaching it. We feel ill-equipped at touching that light of freedom, without somehow dying to get there.
The most common ploy where people and organisations - again managed by people - gain control of someone, is to enter a contract, agreement or a promise, whether written, spoken or in blood. And so the liberation of a new house, or a chance at a new business or even a gift turns sour and the initial joy that was felt, deteriorates until only a phantom is left to take care of the debt.
Soul-less and devoid of joy, the shell of the human trudges mechanically through the feelings of betrayal, poverty and self doubt and what was once a glad creation or an inspiring dream, becomes nothing more than burden of total helplessness.
Now, my tale is not meant to plunge you into heaviness but to shine a light through these situations.
Most people - and I assume this is not you - become fixated and trapped on the physical, emotional and mental understanding of their situation. They give no thought to understanding it at a spiritual level, the state where true liberation can be found.
What does this look like? You ask...
The spiritual state (in communion with God or your Higher Self or the Divine) cannot be owned or tied down . . . it is free and always will be, although at times it feels quite the opposite. Doors that are closed tight on a physical level, emotionally polluted and mentally tarnished, remain pure, open and clear at the spiritual level.
This is where true liberation takes place.
It is the only place . . . and affects the other three layers. They are all governed by your spiritual self.
But, if you never ascend the staircase and leave the physical issues, emotional dreads and mental anguishes behind for a moment, you cannot enter into the place of peace and resolution.
To do this, first we place the cloak of Faith upon our shoulders, and we
give little thought to the Gift of Hope, knowing that it conceals the Shadow of Doubt, then we cross the Bridge of Beliefs to go beyond belief and enter the Realms of Knowing.
Translated into everyday language -
- We must first believe and have faith that our situation can be resolved.
- It cannot be hopeless and we must release all our doubt.
- We have to believe that it is possible
- Believing that it is possible, allows us to enter a place where all potentials - a vast number of them - can become possible and
- This is the place of Knowing - it is beyond belief.
It is a feeling, an intuition if you like and you will most likely not be able to explain or prove it, but it is tangible and it is real!
And you stand there in the freedom of that place and you do not look down through the layers of uncertainty and doubt! You do NOT take your eyes off what is possible . . . and if you do slip . . . journey again over the bridge.

  1. Wow. This really has a huge impact; hits hard. Right now in the States, there is a lot of despair and anxiety about the future, people are desperate for any sort of hope.

  2. I can hear you reading it. Memories of what I have learned from you. Now to have the words of hope to share with others at this time.
