Our Spectrum of Uniqueness

Life is not held within concrete

. . . . . . and therefore, humans are not held within concrete either.

We are not static and unchanging but moving and evolving, and as we make these daily adjustments, we encounter others mirroring our movements.

We could call this a scale, range or a spectrum of uniqueness’ that allows each of us to be an expression of what we each have dreamt, or are dreaming for ourselves. We are all aware of the expressions of the diabolical, whose intent is to cause harm for purely selfish reasons, with no regards to others. These expressions are experienced in people around us in our own families, work environment, amongst friends and in the world around us, and we either have the resilience to remain within our own ray of uniqueness - in their presence - or we do not. They have no remorse.

Upon this moving scale are those that are not necessarily intent upon taking regardless of impact, but they are taking. They do not intend to harm but are unconscious to the fact that they leave a trail of grief and suffering behind on their path. Their main motivation is to meet their own self-centered desires. The means justify the ends.

Moving further along this scale, we encounter those that mean well and actually take action to give and make improvements in their world, but they still hold within them, a need to satisfy themselves. In the end they still hold onto selfish needs, even if they are deeply emotional and hidden. They ‘appear’ to be giving.

After that range, we encounter those that give a lot and have no thoughts of selfish desires except to take action upon their world to make it a better place. They give until it hurts and give everything, without thought to their own inner environment and life is all about out there, others and the world. They neglect their own inner garden.

Sliding further, we find those whose main aim is to correct their inner environment and to better themselves with integrity, character, love and impeccability, whilst acting upon this in their day to day undertakings. They live to make adjustments in their internal world and in wherever the opportunity presents itself, in their external world. They seek inner and outer balance.

Finally, we may have the opportunity to encounter those that serve their world by perfecting themselves and they become the living example of what the world can learn from. For them, a lifetime of being good, pure, loving, compassionate and serene . . . magnified . . . serve to counter- balance the first two ranges on this spectrum. They are the change that the world needs. They hold the internal energy for what humanity can aspire to. They are the candles.

Recognizing these various ranges on the spectrum of life helps us to understand who I am, who you are, and who they are . . . so that we can learn to be discerning. Discernment is not to judge others on their way through the gradations, but so that I - as an individual - can choose what I am becoming.
