Letter To My Heart

LETTER TO MY HEART

Dear Heart . . .

I know that I have kept you in the eternal wardrobe of mindless endeavours.
In this darkness, you have persisted on knocking at the door and have never given up on me. Your rhythmic beating has always faithfully kept me alive and able to do the things that I do, had the experiences that I have had and the loves that I have cared about.
I have neglected you on so many levels and have rarely fed you the right stuff
. . . and I have ignored your fervent warnings when tough decisions have been imminent.
For this, I write this letter -
I want to acknowledge that you are paramount to my survival and not only do you beat the rhythm which keeps me breathing, but you know me better than anyone else, as you are the friend who has been with me the longest!
As positive change is a part of my future, I want you to be a part of that too!
I want you to be at the head of my table, taking your place, where you deserve to be.
I will begin to withdraw from those actions which stress you,
those decisions which cause you pain,
those feelings which cause you to hide,
those thoughts which undermine you,
those beliefs which contradict you and
those people who don't respect you.

My commitment to change begins with you and I will consciously listen to you when I have to change course or continue on any path . . .

Love from Your Person.

  3. I had the amusing thought of a sexist interaction, where a representative or client will speak only to the male person present, and ignore the female. This is a reflection of how our culture speaks only to the (distorted) masculine nrg, the intellect, and not to the feminine nrg, the heart.
